Course Content
In this first part of the course, we’ll explore what it really means to be agile — and why it matters.
You’ll learn where agile came from, when and why it’s most valuable, and how it helps us navigate uncertainty, change and complexity with more ease. We’ll look at the difference between predictive and adaptive planning, and explore the common challenges agility can help with.
We’ll introduce the Being Agile Manifesto, key principles, and a selection of simple tools you can start using straight away. You’ll also get a chance to reflect on your own mindset and begin exploring what being agile looks like for you.
This is your grounding — your first step into a more adaptable, reflective and confident way of working and living.
In this part of the course, we’ll explore how to apply agile thinking through practical tools and techniques.
You’ll learn the difference between linear and iterative ways of working, and how to manage your time, tasks and goals using sprints and workflows. We’ll explore methods like Kanban, the Sprint Cycle, and the Being Agile approach — along with practical tools like the Agile Canvas Planner and Trello.
Whether you’re managing a project, developing an idea, or just trying to stay on top of things, these methods will help you work with more clarity, focus and flow.
In this part of the course, we’ll focus on how to plan, prioritise and pace your work in a more agile way.
You’ll explore sprint cycles, planning rhythms, and how to create a sustainable flow of work without burning out. We’ll look at different ways to estimate time, effort and importance — including fun tools like the Cup of Tea game, Planning Poker, T-shirt sizing and MoSCoW prioritisation.
You’ll learn how to plan and run sprints, manage interruptions, and create space for reflection and recovery.
Whether you’re working solo or with a team, this part will help you stay focused, make better decisions, and keep things moving without the overwhelm.
In this part of the course, we’ll explore the power of regular reflection through agile retrospectives.
You’ll learn how to pause, look back, and gather insights to help you move forward with more clarity and confidence. We’ll introduce different ways to run retrospectives, including the popular and playful Sailing Boat Retrospective Game.
This part is all about creating space to notice what’s working, what’s not, and what to try next — turning experience into learning and learning into progress.
